On 24 January I faxed & emailed a written notice to terminate my membership contract. This was within the 5 day cancellation period - the initial cooling off period to cancel and receive a full refund.
The following day I went to visit the branch to ask for the refund of my lump sum membership fee (R 7696.00) that was paid upfront. The general manager (Bradley Emmett) informed me that the money will be paid within 14 days of receiving the written cancellation notice and that he could not refund the money back to my debit card yet.
To date I have not received the refund or any assurance that the money will be paid back. It has been 14 days that Planet Fitness have not refunded the R 7696.00 they owe me.
I have phoned numerous times to get feedback on the progress of my refund. Bradley said he can't make payments and that the accounts/finance section of Head Office will refund me. Upon enquiring with Head office they said that they won't refund me and that it will have to come from the club. I'm being sent back and forth between head office and the club and no-one seems to take responsibility for the refund.
