I went to the gym wearing a dance shirt and leggings because I hadn't gone home from work to fetch my normal gym wear. As I was doing cardio, the owner of the gym walked over to me, pulling the hem of my shirt and telling me in the rudest, most disrespectful way possible that my wear is inappropriate for gym. She continued to talk at me in her -nuances-filled language, as though I wasn't a paying customer. I was livid. Spoke to her shortly after about having felt disrespected and she told me how she was "sorry but it's your problem if you feel disrespected". I have never received worse treatment at a place I pay for, I feel disgusted and grossed out that such feelings exist at this time. It is not my job to educate ignorant women about the shades of racialism in their own language but, it was all there in the most unbelievable carelessness. Disrespect is a thing, Slater gets away with too much.
