I entered into a 12 month gym contract with Slater Gym in Three Rivers. Two months after the contract had expired, my account was still being debited. I was told to contact the owner, Launa, who told me that the debit orders could not be reversed because the contract states that I have to physically go in to the gym to cancel the contract, even though it has expired. I asked, 'if I wanted to cancel the cancel before the contract term, can I? ' She said, 'no', the contract states I have to pay for 12months'. So its not ok if wanted to terminate my contract before it expires but its perfectly fine to keep debiting my account after the contract expires. Furthermore, I was told if I do not like it, I can get my lawyer. What is upsetting, is when consulting them for a gym contract they mention every detail to you about your contract, EXCEPT that they will keep debiting your account after your contract expires. And the difference in service when you enquire about the contract and what you receive afterwards is shocking
