I opened a gym contract for my mother, when they recruited us to join, i advised the guy that my mother has asthma, he said she will have assistance and if she's not coping we can cancel, 4 months back my mother was booked for an operation... I called the gym to cancel, only then i was told to pay penalty fee of R3000.00 or find someone to replace my mother...
Now my query is why wasn't i told about this before? am i now doing marketing for the Gym? instead i was told i can cancel anytime, is it within the rights of CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT for me to pay for something that i'm not using... i was told to call Makhosi (manager) on 0119383457, but he/she is never there, doesnt even bother to call back after 10 messages left..
