When I was considering joining curves I wasn't happy with being tied into a 12 month contract. The sales person was quick to jump in that I can cancel at any time with a month's notice and all I would lose is the discount on the joining fee which I'd have to pay in. About 5 months into my contract I wasn't seeing results and it wasn't fitting into my schedule. I gave notice to cancel and suddenly was told it would cost me R600 to cancel plus the discount on my joining fee! Their contract says there is a cancellation fee, but nowhere does it state the amount and I went on what the sales person told me verbally.
I've complained to the manager of the branch and am told there is nothing she can do about the misrepresentation. I find this highly unsatisfactory and would expect them to adhere to the terms discussed with their sales consultant!
