About a year ago I was in a financial slump and wanted to put my contract on hold as I was unable to pay my monthly contract.
3 months went by where I was constantly trying my luck to get hold of Porsche (a manager that I was always referred to) she never returned my e mails, never took my calls and never called me back after I left messages for her.
I went into arrears and eventually my account was no longer being debited, I assumed they had finally done what I had asked and put my account on hold until I was back on my feet with a job.
Now I am engaged to be married in October 2014 and I have a stable income and was looking forward to going back to gym. I have now been informed that I owe them over R 700 and will have to pay over R 800 to join again.
Why should I have to pay another joining fee? Why do I owe them money when I tried for 3 months to put my account on hold? Virgin Active should understand that life happens to people, I have just gotten back on my feet and do not have over R 1000 to pay for Virgin Actives mistakes. If I was taken seriously, this would never have happened.
