This morning at VA Benoni, I noticed a delivery van parking in handicapped parking. When the driver got out of the vehicle, I asked him whether "he was kidding me", he asked "why", I told him about his parking in handicapped parking. His response (Mr. Marthinus Eloff, working for your contractor ORYX)? "I am only going in there quickly", as his parking in handicapped parking was one of the most normal things in the world. I told him to move and to move fast, and reluctantly he did.
I told Mr. Eloff very clearly what I thought of him, he suggested I talk to his manager (Mr. Jean-Lee Pieters). His response? "He was only delivering", I can only assume that Mr. Pieters also seems to believe that parking in handicapped parking is perfectly ok. I then asked whether Mr. Eloff was getting a disciplinary hearing out of his doing, and Mr. Pieters hung the phone up on me.
Personally? I think ORYX should get fired as a contractor as if you continue to employ their services, I would only assume that you condone the behavior of their staff. I am physically challenged but would never dream of parking in one of the only two spots at VA Benoni as there are only two there!
