I had a Planet fitness membership (through vitality) which I cancelled (both vitality & Planet fitness) on 30th Nov 2012. I did the cancellation at the Rivonia gym, I notified them of my cancellation & reasons, this was accepted by the person at reception, at the same time I asked her to contact Vitality to confirm the cancellation which was done and confirmed. I asked repeatedly if i have to to sign any documents or get any reference numbers and was assured by the planet fitness staff member that none was required. I did get a cancellation ref from Vitality. No money was deducted for Dec 2012 & Jan 2013.
While going through my statements I noticed that from the first of Feb 2013 money has been deducted, even after cancellation! Feb R413, Mar R337, April R 375, May 2 R 375 & May 3 R375. These deduction I have not authorized, to me that is money being from my account.
I went to the Rivonia gym and queried, I was told that I did not give them notice??? How can my membership be cancelled and then 2 months later be re-activated without my notification or approval.
I feel that money has been from my account!!! Who can I call... Carte Blanche?
