Unable to reimburse

On the 23rd of December 2012, I purchased clothing in the amount of R560.00 from Identity Store, Gateway KZN.
On 16 January 2013 at 11h00, I went to the Brooklyn branch to return the two items. I complied with all the requirements. I was informed that as I had originally purchased the items with a debit card she was unable to reverse the transaction. The store only had their daily 'float' of R250.00 in the cash register she suggested they I return later on in the day as it was 'still too early'.
Ms Mareka, the manageress, merely shrugged her shoulders and stated it was not her problem as she merely receives instructions from head office.
It unbelievable that a store in a busy mall (not a spaza shop next to the road) is unable to refund a customer when all the requirements are met. The attitude of Ms Mareka, is of great concern. The Identity group should not be surprised if they are forced to close their doors at the Brooklyn store in the near future. I, will NEVER shop there again.
