Rochester delivered a bedroom suite which was badly manufactured and finished. I complained and noted the defects on the delivery note to make it clear that I had not accepted the goods in that condition. I was told to talk to the manufacturers. I did so and they agreed to sort out the defects. The supposedly repaired dressing table was returned but was still below acceptable standard. The manufacturer, Linea Classica Furnature Manufacturers agreed to re-manufacture the unit and after four months a new dressing table was delivered. It had been completed and wrapped in bubble wrap while the varnish was sill wet. It was in a terrible condition when it was unwrapped. I immediately sent it back and informed Rochester and requested a refund so I could purchase a suit elsewhere. I was told to fill in a form in order to get a refund but have had no response after three weeks. Item 29 of the terms and conditions allows Rochester to wash their hand of any responsibility for warranty claims other than to assist with the process. They have shown little interest in solving my problem other than the salesman who has been sympathetic but has not achieved anything to date.
