Edgars
Defamatory treatment

I bought a pair of black boots on Friday, 19 April 2012 at the Melrose Arch branch and wore the shoes to a dinner party that same evening. When I got home that evening I saw that the shoes had looked terrible as the toes worn through in one evening in the size of a R2.00 coin. Monday, 22 April 2013, being the first opportunity I had to return the shoes to Edgars Melrose Arch, I was told by a shop attendant that it was not their problem and she consulted the store manager, Nolwazi Khumalo, whom also stated to her that the shocking state of the shoes were not the stores fault nor was it a quality defect. I spoke to Nolwazi Khumalo myself. She arrived after 30 minutes only. I told her that I was unhapppy to pay R400.00 for a pair of boots and only wear them once. She responded by stating that dog hair was visible onthe point of that shoe insinuating that the only way that shoe could look like that was because I allegedly kicked a dog! I pointed out to her that her statement was defamatory as it was said in room with other people and customers. Im horrified in that poor customer service and as a laywer i intend to take legal action for defamation. Shocking!
