I handed it a pair of boots to Multiserve Riverside on the 3 April to have heels fixed. I paid R85, 00 and received a slip as proof of repairs being done.
On the 11th of April I visited the store to collect the boots. The owner, an old black woman retrieved the boots and handed them to me. I inspected the heels and were satisfied of the workmanship. This person took the slip and stared at it for a long time, she then grabbed the boots from my hands and told me that the boots and slip don't go together. I calmly explained to het that it is my pair of boots. She then showed me on her computer system that the pair of boots belonged to a Mrs van Schyff who has paid R185, 00 to have it fixed!
I realized that she was not able to help me and phoned the telephone number on the slip. another black woman answered and after explaining the situation her first question to me was ;"why did you leave the boots for so long? '. After threatening with the police, local newspaper ect. she told me: "you whites are too lazy to go far, they will come back to me". need I say more?
