I had 2 accounts with the foschini group, Markham and totalsports, both with small balances of less than R2000. in 2009 I got divorced and was pregnant with my 1st child. I was unemployed and I advised the agents inhouse collections as well as the legal department that as soon as I start working again I will settle off the account. Its not that I didn't want to pay, I was a single mother and had no financial support from my ex spouse. In 2011. I settled all my accounts. I went to the stores on 2 occasions, they gave me the legal dept number and when I called I was advised that they not dealing with the account anymore. I called the client care service and I was told an outside agency is dealing with it. Who was I suppose to pay the money to? I haven't received any letter stating that I will be listed, and eventho I lost my cellphone in 2011, my house number was still active which means there was a means of contact. This default was listed unfairly and I will be taking this matter to the ombudsman as now that I'm remarried and applying for a home loan I'm unable to do so as I was listed in 2012.
