A few weeks a go I bought a 500g packet of what was supposed to be Kudu Droe Wors manufactured by Closwa in Namibia. The word Kudu was prominently displayed on the price sticker. When I got home I discovered that the contents details (in very fine print on a small sticker at the back) described the meat contents as game meat and there was no mention of the word Kudu anywhere. I checked on the Closwa website and established that nowhere on their list of products is there any mention of their selling Kudu Droe Wors. On Easter Sunday (I think it was) I took the packet back to them in order to complain about the fact that I had been misled. I was told that the store manager was not there so ended up speaking to one of the butcher's who, I was told, is in charge of all of the meat products. I think his name is Roger. He was very polite and he assured me that he would get back to me by 09h30 on Tuesday after having spoken to the relevant rep. It is now Thursday 12h45 and I have not heard a word. Given all of the controversy surrounding he biltong industry at the moment I would have expected a more concerned response.
