I bought a Jost Icemaker from the Kollonade branch. We have since moved to Montagu in the Western Cape. About a month ago the machine broke down. Not a major break but the "ice full" indicator malfunctioned. The till-slip was so faded that I could no more see the date of purchase, and as there is no branch of HiFi corp locally, I waited for my son to visit us on easter from Durbanville. He took the machine in today (3 April 2013) upon which the branch responded that the warranty expired on 23 March 2013, not even 2 weeks ago. They will send it in for rrepairs at my cost. I think this is very bad service as the machine was actually malfunctioning before the guarantee expired, but I had no way to take it to a branch any earlier. The incompetent person attending would not try to help and could not even say what the quote rejection fee would be if I should not accept it.
