My fiance bought me a beautiful engagement ring 18 months ago - its a simple ring, but stunning, so much so that I decided that it would also serve as my wedding ring.
Last month, with no reason what-so-ever, I noticed that a diamond had fallen out. I took it to the same branch where the ring was purchased, and was told by the sales person that it would have to be sent to Durban for repairs.
I enquired whether it would be a cost to me or the company, and they had a look at it, and said that because it was one of the white gold claws that had broken (causing the diamond to fall out) that it was obviously a manufacturing fault, and the repair would not be my expense.
2 weeks later, I got a call saying that the cost would be on my account - I have no idea why I would need to pay for NWJ's obvious manufacturing fault.
How can a diamond fall out of a ring after just 18 months? This is obviously poor quality and I refuse to pay for it!
And to think I was going to use it as my wedding band - no way! How many diamonds are going to be left after 10 years, 20 years, 30 years? INSANE!
I am not backing down - NWJ please fix this mess and repair my ring!
