To all prospective purchasers of Nike product; please look at alternative brands when you make the decision to purchase new running shoes. I used to have a pair of ASICS, with which I was very happy when I was pursuaded by the salesman at the Fourways "Sweat Shop" to purchase a pair of Nike Flywire running shoes. My running is not that intensive: I average about 3kms per day, 5 days per week. Within about 4 months, the heels of the shoes appeared to 'collapse'. I say collapse in that the sole of the shoe would support my foot and almost by virtue of a ridge across the sole, the heel would have no support. This created substantial discomfort when running and I began to worry about possible injury. Fearing that the shoes were not designed to be used every day, I went and purchased a second pair which I alternated. Before long the same issue occurred with the 2nd pair. I never had this occur with my ASICS. I returned both pairs of shoes to The Sweat Shop for evaluation from a Nike representative. None has been forthcoming, and so I am motivated to warn prospective purchases of Nike footwear that you may be making an expensive mistake.
