I purchased a 9ct Ice Diamond ring on the 3 March 2012 at American Swiss in Canal Walk for R4000. The ring was 4-5 sizes too large and we had it taken in. About 5 weeks (less than a year after purchase) the ring split where the new joint was made, we took it back to American Swiss and received a quote for R1100, the repair required an additional half a band to be fixed.
These are my concerns:
1. We didn't receive back the piece of band that was taken out when the ring was re-sized, and now we being charged for it!
2.The fact that a R4000 ring broke in less than a year of owning it is very concerning, and If the alteration workmanship was done properly the first time, we wouldn't have to deal with this.
3.R1100 to repair a R4000 ring is absurd within the first year of purchase.
As a customer I don't think I should be paying a single cent more than I have already paid, and that is not even considering the absolute inconvenience of this whole debacle. Can someone please see my story for what it's worth and then provide the necessary feedback.
