Terrible security response

Unfortunately while shopping at Woolworths at N1 City Mall, my grandmother of 73 years old had her handbag with all all cards, cash and ID.

When she got to the till, she realised that her handbag was no where to be seen. We reported this to management whom checked the security cameras and founded that there were 3 ladies involved who had taken her handbag. We founded that the ladies will still shopping at Woolworths after the handbag. Woolworths did not call the police and informed us that we should.

My grandmother needed to block her account, but Woolworths wanted her ID number, which she could not provide as it was in her handbag that was, therefore they would not block her account or take responsibility for any purchases that occurred on the account before being blocked.

Why does Woolworths have security cameras that are not monitored to prevent such crimes, needless to say a customer cannot feel safe in their shop. There was one gentleman, Fezal Meyer, who was very compassionate and caring and done his best to ease an uncomfortable situation. I believe that Woolworths should of taking some responsibility, perhaps compensated her for the inconvenience.
