Persepolis Carpet Bazaar
Incorrectly labeled and damaged carpets

My wife and I purchased two Persian carpets from Persepolis, R15 000 each (R30 000 total). Both were vintage/ antique carpets from Iran. The next day when we unpacked them we realized that one of the carpets were 60cm x 50cm smaller than the label suggested and the other carpet had, what can only be described as car tracks all over it. The track marks were only visible from certain angels and light. Both carpets were unusable.

Disappointed, we returned the carpets to the store and requested a refund after we decided that there weren't any other carpets that suited our needs.

The store manager (Fereshteh) said that the store doesn't do any refund and only exchanges. I explained to her that according to the CPA I was entitled to a full refund due to the fact that the carpets were misrepresented and damaged. She contacted the store owner (Salie Hartley), he refused a refund and switched off his cell phone after the conversation.

I'm still in possession of the carpets and I'm desperately trying to resolve the matter.
