No till slip no exchange

Bought 2 pairs of pumas and went to exchange for a bigger size. Was denied as we did not have the till slip. Proof of card purchase could be given and we asked if they could not check the system as it was just 3 days prior that purchase was made. We were told it's too many purchases back to look and not their problem we do t have till slip! Surely this is illegal??!!! Cross trainer Richards Bay
