Good day
My sister mother in law is a pensioner and gets a monthly government pension of R1200 a month. She wanted to buy a home entertainment system of R6500 and with interest, insurance and all other charges the total amount came to over R18000 with a monthly repayment of R625. There is no way that this woman can afford this. I am sure that she didn't understand what was being explained to her as this woman can hard write.
I immediately called Price and Pride to have this cancelled but has had no luck with the attitudes from staff and being sent from pillar to post, and is now threatening this woman to have her pay half of this and blacklisting her.
We have also been in contact with the manager of the store as well as the salesman called Mark for almost 2 months now and still no luck, this woman is very fragile and can't walk and sit for long periods at a time.
I also intend to inform social services of this as I am sure that there is 100's of pensioners that is in the same boat as her.
Please help.
