HOW DOES RETURNING A PAIR OF SHOES TURN?

I bought a pair of shoes on Friday the 1st of Feb for R350.00 I wore them twice, to Church and to work on Monday. When putting them away I noticed that the material on the inside of the heels was worn through and knowing that I hadn't been negligent felt justified in requesting a credit due to the poor quality of the product, as in the material was not durable enough for it's purpose. I sent my daughter into the shop to return them She then called to say they had refused. I asked to speak to the store managerwho said there was nothing wrong with the top of the shoes so she wouldn't take them back. I said I knew that, but the top wasn't the problem had see seen the bottom of the shoes. She had not. She said she'd go and look and call me back, but didn't. My daughter arrived home, upset firstly by the supercilious attitude of Hazel, but also by the question of "does she work with black people" (?!) As a charity worker we work with all races who will readily reject this accusation. I have always shopped at WW, and am appalled by 1) the refusal to accept faulty goods 2) the absolutely unnacceptable attitude and 3) how returning a pair of shoes became because we disagreed...
