I recently went to The Space in Brooklyn on the 24th of January 2014 because they had a sale. One blue dress caught my eye and i immediately wanted to buy it. The dress was R349 as i was walking to the till to pay the consultant told me to wait while she called the supervisor. I wondered why she needed to call the supervisor but anyway i waited for the supervisor to come. Immediately when the supervisor came she took the dress from my hands and said this is not the price for this dress this dress is not on sale!!
I asked her how she can say the price is incorrect if its on the dress and she said in a rude tone LISTEN! its either you pay R450 for this dress or you leave it!
This was not my problem that they had put the wrong price on the dress, I wanted the dress at the price advertised. Its illegal to advertise items at a certain price and then when the consumer wants to buy it at the advertised price the store suddenly says its the wrong price. Its misleading the consumer and its against the consumer protection act. The lady took the dress off my hands and walked away. I hope this matter will be dealt with accordingly...
