It has come to my attention that on Saturday 01 Feb 2014 my 14 years old brother was detained and STRIPPED searched at Mr Price because some 'kind' customer reported to security that he was acting suspicious. There was no evidence of him doing anything wrong other than window shopping in the centre with his younger brother and cousin. He was not allowed to tell them where he was going nor were his parents contacted at anytime! In what world is it ok to make a 14 year old strip down to his underwear! I would like to know what is your official policy with regards to dealing with minors suspected of shop lifting. Was this procedure followed correctly. Were the details of the customer who reported the 'suspicious behaviour' taken down. Did they ascertain that it was not this customer who was in fact shop lifting and using my brother as a scapegoat? Needless to say we as a family are extremely angry at the humiliation and trauma that this 14 year old had to endure. He is still in shock and cannot understand why this happened to him. Absolutely disgusted by this store and its staff
