I bought 3 goods at Checklers at Southway Mall Durban, I paid for the goods and left the shop "outside" the checkers there was a pamphlet on display showing the specials. A security guard approached m, e and asked to search my bag after I had left the premises. I asked why was I being searched since I had in essence. She said that it was being searched under suspicion. I proceeded to ask if there was any reason or evidence that says that gave them to be suspicious she said that there was none. I would understand if customers were informed through signage and the like prior to entering that bags will be subject to random searching but after a person has purchased left the premises? I had nothing in my bag nor did I engage in suspicious activities that would have warranted me being searched as was evident when they searched my bag that there was nothing fell that my rights were violated and although it close to where I stay I refuse to purchase goods from there anymore. It is sad as the staff and generally provides a good service but the security personnel the security. I would be grateful if this matter was taken up and if there is a need I can avail myself.
