Sold me DSTV decoder already registered to someone

I live in Zimbabwe. On 10 August I came to the Woodmead branch in South Africa to buy a DStv HD PVR recorder. On returning home to Zimbabwe, Multichoice have rejected it saying its already registered in someone's name.

Now I'm faced with the problem of having to go back to South Africa just to return the decoder and get a new one. Just in case you are wondering why I didn't buy the decoder in Zimbabwe, that's because the prices here are just much more expensive and if on a trip to SA, might as well get stuff there.
