I purchased my PVR Decoder May 2012, called the Multichoice Call Centre and gave them my details to activate to Smart Card. Yesterday they cut off my DSTV service. After a long call to the Call Centre they found out that my Smart Card was registered to an account of a person unknown to me since May 2012, and that the person had called Multichoice yesterday afternoon and told them that this was not his Smart Card and that he would like a refund for the services he was billed for, for which he had not received.
The Call Centre Rep then said that she would have to get confirmation from the other customer that my Smart Card and Decoder was not his. Since last night the customer is not contactable so I now sit without DSTV Services until either the customer is contacted or I get an affidavit from the police that my Decoder is really mine and not and then go to a Multichoice Office and get the Decoder registered on my account.
This would not be that much of a problem if I did not have to travel a 240km round trip and had at least 5 hours free to do this. I just don't get to receive any further action from Mulitchoice since this morning.
