Shoprite seems to be the only store in Stanger that insists on checking my purchases at month end. The checking is done by a very rude security guard who asks for my till slip and them proceeds to check my 2 x trolley worth of groceries. It really annoys me! I am a regualr customer at Shoprite, I love shopping there. My monthly grocery bill comes to? R5500 per month. I have since decided to STOP shopping at Shoprite since Dec 2013. When my husband objected to the Manageress (before we start shopping) to having our trolley searched, she recommended to having a security guard stand at the till whilst every item is scanned! My husband agreed to this. I felt voilated and mistrusted as a customer after being a loyal customer for many years. There is no signage at the entrance mentioning that trolleys will be checked by the security guard. I feel offended and unfortunatley will not return. Also the security guard (one in particular) was extremely rude and even had a shouting match with my husband the previous month (Nov/Oct). This has left a bad taste with us. We did report him to the Manageress.
