On Saturday 28th December i wanted to purchase 4 cushion covers buy 3 get 1 free. Unfortunately, they did not have stock of the grey rose design covers. I ended up purchnasing plain covers from @home.
On monday, 30th, I walked into sheet street and noticed that they now had stock of the grey. I took it off the shelf and when I wanted to pay for it the cashier advised the promotion had ended.
I told her what had happened and she remembered me, stating that they had the stock when I came in previously but had not unpacked the boxes. Which to me means that when I wanted to purchase previously, if they had checked stock I would have got it at the promotional price.
I asked to speak to the manager, explained to her that I should get it at this price and she stated that she couldnt do anything as this would be to change the price. so im assuming when pick n pay, and checkers honour prices when they are out of stock they are committing, not that is customer retention and satisfaction.
