Okay... this may sound like a stupid complaint but I am sure I am not the only one wondering about this. I hate it when food goes to waste. Today, while we were in the fruit and vegetable department I saw this strange kind of fruit... beautiful on the one side but when I picked it up it was rotten. We asked if the price could be reduced... I am a very curious person... maybe the seeds were still usable, if there were any... well, they told me no, pay the original price or leave it... now I ask you, who is going to pay R30 for a tennis ball size rotten fruit?
This is bothering me for some time now... when the fruit and veg are a bit "off" not rotten... why don't they reduce the price?..for instance, I am not going to pay the same price for fresh tomatoes than for soft tomatoes... I cannot use those in salads anymore, but when I slice away the bad parts I can still use it in stews... I hate it when people waste food... or... does those food stay on the shelves until they are no good anymore and go somewhere else... I wonder... Please Checkers... don't waste!
