We have been customers of fruit and veg city in lenasia since it opened a few years ago. Due to the size of our family, we purchase for at least 1000 rand each time we shop. Unfortunately, each time we buy from there multiple goods are rotten. In the last week we bought two packets of potatoes, both of which were rotten when we opened them on the day of purchase. The second bag in particular was so badly rotten that maggots were already in them. We had to throw away the second 7kg pocket of potatoes in as many weeks.
Another incident was when we had purchased a box of kiwi fruit, the entire box was rotten and inedible.
If we had another fruit market in lenasia, we would definitely not support fruit and veg. Their attitude and the quality of their products is shocking.
Lest I mention, the rat that I saw having a good time in the apple section!
This kind of treatment is shocking, and now we will be forced to go further out from our place of residence and support a different supplier.
