I returned a item in my lunch hour at Fashion Express in Canal Walk.
The cashier had to call for help with every procedure of the exchange and sale.
The return: R140. The price on the new item: R160. I gave the cashier a R50, got R30 change.
At home I saw the new purchase slip says marked down R40 . cost R120.
I returned the new item, enquired why I was overcharged..
The manager embarrassed me in front of a queue by sarcastically asking- why did I not notice the overcharge immediately.
I explained, I did not look at the slips, I had to hurry- the struggling cashier took up most of my time.
The cashier never took the return money out before doing the new sale. She took the R50, gave me R30 change.
She did not rang- up the cash I gave her. The register was open throughout the exchange and new purchase sale.
I was called by the store manager with feedback from regional manager - Shantelle Theron saying "why did I not notice the overcharge immediately, sorry they can't help".
I was robbed, treated inhuman, made a and find Shantelle Theron's feedback degrading and appalling.
