I went to pick&pay Hatfield Pretoria to buy my son and daughter a cool drink, chose the cool drink and chose a pie and a padlock for their locker at Q-Photo opposite pick&day's entrance where they work. Seeing that the pies were affordable thought I would get for them. I walked 4 meters out the store to ask them which pies they would like and realised I still had the. Goods in my hand, I promptly returned to the store at which time I was arrested. I tried to explain that I had lots on my mind & was willing to pay for them, neither security or the manager would listen. SA police arrived & was hadcuffed and marched out the mall with my kids watching in disbelief. Fingerprints were taken & was charged for shoplifting to the value R67.00. Was obliged to pay admission of guilt or wait in prison for a bail hearing, which could be Jan 2014. I now have a criminal record. Why didn't anybody listen could have been solved in store and I had R200.00 on me at the time. I have security footage.
