I went to Pick 'n Pay this morning, I bought wrapping paper - one roll. I had a hundred rand note in my pocket and the roll was R3.99.
The lady serving me scanned the paper, when I presented her with my hundred rand she rudely refused to proceed with the transaction because she, apparently, had no twenty rands, at least that's what I heard - my Sepedi is not that great. I stood there as she called someone else to cancel my purchase and help the next customer.
I was infuriated.
I ask that Pick 'n Pay teach their tellers some discipline. Just because I'm black doesn't mean I understand all African languages.
