A series of Kalahari disappointments

I suspect the online shopping concept is one that has yet to be really refined in SA. First I ordered a book which arrived damaged and had to be returned, a lengthy and frustrating process. Then I ordered 2 toys to take overseas with me at Xmas. And brilliant, I could pay with Discovery miles saving myself a bit of cash at this expensive time. Not so much... I ordered with 9 working days to spare, one of the items was 24hour delivery, the other 'usually dispatched within 6 working days'. I reasoned that meant dispatched on day 4 or 5 hopefully, so with a bit of luck I would get it in time.
Of course there was the fatal get-out clause of 'depending upon supplier'. Day 7 and it hadn't even been dispatched yet so I had to cancel it. I did phone repeatedly to ask if there was some way to get my hands on it quicker, but of course there wasn't. And this was a locally-manufactured toy apparently. Even the 24-hour delivery item which was destined to arrive yesterday never came, so a day spent not daring to go out and leave the house, for nothing. It would appear that Kalahari works great as long as there are no time constraints involved.
