My mum who is a pensioner spent an hour in Galleria Boarmans to find an item that she can use her R75 voucher against. I explicitly read the voucher conditions and advised her that there were no restrictions as stated in the fine print. After an hour of selection, she chose something which was reduced by 20% as this fitted in with her budget coupled with the R75 voucher. She proceeded to pay and was advised that the item was was exempt as it was already reduced. She could have either the voucehr or the 20% off but not both. I pointed out that the voucher did not state that this was only for full priced items and discounted items were excluded. Amandla the manageress was called and could offer no logic either why my mum could not get both discounts. The item in hand was R139 and I would request that Boardmans refund 20% of this value against my mum's account as I had to give her the money to make up the total. Furthermore, it would be appreciated if there is some consistency applied when putting in guidelines on vouchers etc. One should not have to point out the obvious to staff at Boardmans.
