I recently purchased a gift voucher on Daddy's deals for African Diamond and have a serious complaint about the voucher. The gift voucher is worthless to the ordinary man on the street.
First and foremost the goods at African Diamond are seriously overpriced (a standard every day 50cm gold chain which would less than R1 500 at any other jewellery store and I know because I purchase a lot of jewellery, costs double that, i.e. around R3 000 at African Diamond).
Secondly, they have very little stock from which one can choose to purchase anything and definitely nothing under R1 000.
Thirdly, if an item is currently marked down, the voucher is not valid for these items either and one then has to purchase the item at the original price example, a silver and Swarovski crystal bracelet is currently priced at R1 995, but marked down to R999.00. If one wishes to use the voucher, the price is worked on the original price less the voucher and then the difference is divided by two, therefore still having to pay in an additional R500, on top of the voucher, i.e. purchasing the sale item at a cost of R700, only saving R299 in the long run on an overpriced item.
