I handed my Tag Heuer in on 05 December 2013 for replacement of the battery. On collection I was told that the watch failed the water resistance test AFTER the battery was replaced. On enquiry whether it was tested BEFORE they opened it, the manager (A Mr Jassat) informed me that they only test once. I expressed my unhappiness with the fact that they can't proof that it was not waterproof BEFORE they worked on it. He then changed his story claiming that the test was done BEFORE replacing the battery. I then asked for the post-test, which he could not provide. The printed test slip has no time or indication of when it was done (pre or post). I have a witness (who happens to be a commissioner of auths) present who heard the whole conversation. My watch was waterproof before handed to them as I swim, dive, surf with it. When I indicated that I am going to take this further, the price of the replacement battery suddenly dropped from the quoted R595.00 to R150.00! Nobody will know if they have even replaced it with the approved battery? Can these guys be trusted? Think again before entrusting your expensive watch to them!
