Ad attitude even with negligence on their part

2 dresses were advertised in their nov account promo. Wife went to store only to be told stock had not arrived. Left contact details with staff member who was to call us when stock arrived. No call, however today we were passing the store and happened to notice stock on shelf but the size we wanted had been sold. Tried to order the item however preston insisted I must have my I'd or card to order. My I'd was in my car at the other end of the mall and due to a back injury I could not walk all the way and back. He insists this is a transaction and failed to comprehend that I will present my I'd or card when collecting the item. I have 20 years of retail experience and their is no risk as I was not taking any goods but merely wanting to order something. He again insisted that all transactions must be accompanied by an I'd or card. Strange that when I paid R1200 last month with NO ID OR CARD the very same rules didn't apply. This is not the first time. Incompetent staff who know nothing of how to treat and retain a customer. Extremely sad for all the thousands I have spent their. Had the store called us as promised when stock arrived this would not have occured.
