Lewis Stores
What happened to being HONEST

My domestic worker, M, paid her account on 28/01/2013.She forgot her purse on the cashier's counter.By the time she realised this, it was too late for her to go back. She went back first thing the very next morning. The same cashier gave back her purse. M thought of giving the cashier R 50 to thank her, but when she opened her purse, the R400 in it was gone. Cashier immediately asked whats wrong & M replied there was money in. Cashier denied. Cashier said purse was picked up by another staff member & was empty. M has been working for us for a long time & I trust her with my life, she would never make up this story. If the purse fell on the floor & someone took the money from there, wouldn't the cashier or staff member notice this. And wouldnt it be easier to just take the whole purse. Everything else was in the purse, except the money. If M is wrong, we will apologise sincerely to the cashier, but I think it's only fair for this to be investigated by the store. M said that the store was quiet with not alot of people in it, so all staff members werent that busy & the cashier was talking to her friend while helping M, that doesnt sound busy to me. Is there no ccv cameras in the store or on the cashiers?
