I am a first- time car owner and my first encounter with Burchmore's was when I bought the car. I was told that everything had gone smoothly and that I needn't worry about the licencing and registration as this was taken care of; that I can come back in Dec (it was then May) to collect a new disc (as I was told it was OK to drive on the previous owners' disc until expiry) Needless to say I had to pay R1000 to get my licence in Dec because I was incorrectly informed by Burchmores.
The second time I had noticed a rattling in my car. I took it in, and was shown that the battery was not even affixed to the car. My front tyre also kept going flat. Specialists from a Tyre company told me that my tyre was not even road worthy it was so damaged. It is beyond them how I was not involved in an accident and that they doubt a thorough road-worthy test was conducted on this car. Due to the extreme damage of the tyres I was not able to claim from the tyre insurance that was recommended to me by Burchmore's themselves!
My wheel balancing was so out- and this was supposed to be checked in the roadworthy. I have had loved one's die on the roads, and Burchmore's has renewed that fear.
