I had recently gotten two (2) flat tyres on my Toyota Yaris courtesy of some acacia thorns. Normally I would go to Maxi Press for all my tyre issues as they are great however it was a Saturday and they were closed and thus i trudged off to Tiger Wheel and Tyre Midrand on Saturday 7 December 2013. Due to their busy nature at the time, I had to wait a good three (3) hours for my tyres to be checked. I was informed that flat repairs were charged at R99 per flat tyre.
After checking my tyres, I was called upon by the technician (who I cannot for the life of me recall a name) and told that my tyres were un-reparable owing to the fact that the flats were on the side of the tyre and not located on the tread. The technician then informed me I would have to get new tyres and that the tyres weren't in great condition either.
I declined this mans request and went on my way to inspect the tyres myself. I saw that the damage on the first tyre (circled by the technician in white) was clearly and visibly on the tread. The second tyre was only slightly on the side. I went to Maxi Press later in the week and got both fixed for R100. A clear attempt by TWT to rip me off and my cash.
