Refusing to assist and product is under warranty

Last year I was given a WD Hard Drive as a gift for Christmas. Not even a year later, the hard drive no longer works. According to one of the sales assistants, it's under two year warranty. My brother does not have the slip. Game is refusing to look up the purchase after one of the sales assistants informed me a week ago that if I can find out on what date it was bought and they would be able to search for the purchase on their system. But they refusing to look it up now. Firstly I'm appalled with the service from Game and I cannot believe that they selling such products (WD). The fact that they refusing to assist me and the drive is under two year warranty makes me even more unhappy. I definitely won't advise anyone to buy from Game again.
