During Mid-December 2011, i purchased furniture (Lounge Suite, Entertainment Unit, TV, Coffee Table, 2 x Lamps & Carpet) from the Eastgate branch of House & Home and every item we received had some form of major damage. Spoke to branch Manger - Verdi Andrews - Immediately & was assured all items will be replaced.
One of his Sales Staff contacted me & also assured me they would source the furniture & replace them.
It went this way for months then i stopped paying my account. Around Feb/March this year I was asked to come in & choose new furniture & they would do a rewrite of my account. I went in and chose what i wanted from them a few months ago but the Furniture was never delivered/exchanged.
I was told about a month later when i queried this, i was informed that they will not replace the furniture until i bring my account up to date with an amount of R 24 000, 00. The reason for not paying my account was & is because they have not honored their promises to replace all of the damaged furniture.
Their accounts department have now handed me over to the attorneys & unless i pay the R 24 000, 00 they will repossess the furniture. Is this the kind of service H&H offers to clients?
