Manual for assembling goods not user friendly

I bought an entertainment unit from Makro. They advised me they would charge a hefty R500 to assemble in store when I asked them to. I took the goods home only to find the manual is not user friendly. The unit sits half done because the instructions are not clear. Why do companies advertise assembled good and expect us to turn carpenters in one day when we buy?
