Bad quality, no return

I recently bought a pair of smart pants to wear to a formal event. while wearing them for the first time at the event they tore from the zip right around to the back leaving me in quite a embarrassing position for the rest of the evening. when i took them back to the store they refused to return them... i have bought a lot of clothing from them over the years and was quite disappointed that they would risk losing a customer over a pair of pants that was obviously poorly manufactured by them.
