This last Sunday we popped into our local Toys R Us to find a present for my son's birthday this week. We decided on a "B-Kids drum and ball" toy which seemed to fit the bill.
Toys R Us were good enough to pop their current catalogue into our carrier bag when we paid. Upon paging through this at home we discovered that *all* B-Kids toys were supposed to have 20% discount, which ours didn't have.
I went back to the store a bit later, presented the assistant manager the catalogue and the till receipt and asked for the discount that was due to us. He chose not to help me - he said it was entirely out of his power to refund the R22 (yip, just R22) discount that was due and he'd have to call his area manager to see if this is possible.
But never fear, he'd call me on Monday and give feedback. Monday has come and gone and no phone call from Jan, what a surprise.
Toys R Us, it's only R22 but I went back on principle because you never honoured your advertising. Instead of acknowledging your mistake and sorting it out, you messed me about and committed to nothing more than wasting my time.
Customer service - what's that?
