I recently went to Pick n Pay Family Store in Mthatha Eastern Cape in the Southernwood area, and was utterly upset at the state of food at store. Firstly the store has undergone a revamp recently and looks very hygienic, but after some observations
1.The Deli areas were the bread is held is left open and the amount of flies roaming around is deplorable.
2.The meat counters are even less desirable, the meat reeks, there are flies around, and even some of the meat is a funny colour, and carries an odour.
3.The area where pre-prepared food is offered to the public is utterly unacceptable, flies, old food.
4.Expired stock is not checked on stock and is left on aisle to be sold to customers.
Now for even more DISGUSTING and utter SHOCKING revelations, which I know for a fact:
1.The staffs in all areas, whether it is the preparation of food, the deli, the bakery, do not comply with health regulations. The staff in the back DOES NOT. They prepare food bare-handed, no head coverage.
2.Food around everywhere without coverage or sanitised surroundings
3.Food that has expired, especially meat is
