More flies than at the Polo Clu

I've avoided buying at any Fruit & Veg City for years owing to previous bad experiences with low quality produce, but in the hope that they've improved, and to save money, I went to the Willowbridge Fruit & Veg City to pick up some vegetables. Never again. The vegetable section is now smaller than it used to be as the meat section takes up most of the store. Nothing is covered, not the meat, the salads or the warm food counter. There are more flies in that store than I've seen all summer, and we live opposite the Durbanville Race Course and Polo Club. I didn't see one staff member doing anything about the flies even while other customers, like me, walked about waving our hands in a futile attempt to disperse flies sitting on everything. We don't eat red meat, and only seldom chicken or fish - so the sight and smell of so much uncovered meat really nauseated me. Also, the quality of their vegetables is worse than Spar and Pick 'n Pay. Back to Woolworths I go.
